A retirement reception was Monday, May 21, in the multipurpose room at Dawson Springs Independent Schools.
Those retirees honored were Jenny Bruce, Beth Dillingham, Paula Jackson, Sherri Lanham, Lesley Mills, Liz Morris, Carol Niswonger, Brenda Purdy, DeNell Storms and Christy Winfrey.
The combined experience of the retirees total more than 200 years in education.
Service in Education Awards were also given that day. Melinda Deboe and Jennifer Miller were honored for 5 years. Those who served 10 years were Joy Cowan, Mary Beth Coy and Mary Morgan. Serving 15 years were Crystal Davenport, Kammie King, Kristin Merrill and Jennifer Ward. The 20-year group included Kati Griffin, Holly Peters, Cathy Watson, Leonard Whalen and Christy Winfrey. Four people served for 25 years: Lisa Cotton, LaDonna Hooper, Brenda Purdy and Debbie Smith. Ladonna Bennett and Cindy Crider have worked in education for 30 years. Jenny Bruce served for 40 years.
Kevin Stockman earned a perfect attendance award and an award for his exceptional leadership at the upper school.
