The annual Dawson Springs BBQ 5K with its famous pig shirt is set for the morning following the Dawson Springs Barbecue and Homecoming.

Onsite registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, at the Dawson Springs Community Center. The run/walk will start an hour later.

Those interested in participating can also register early at active.com or by taking a picture of the QR code on the event's Facebook page. To receive a shirt on the day of the event, you must sign up by July 14. That cost is $20. If you register after July 14, the cost is $25 and a T-shirt will be given to you at a later date. Runners can choose either a tech-feel shirt or a cotton shirt.

The event will benefit the Dawson Springs High School cross country team and the community center.

Those who finish first in their sex and age groups will receive an overall award for their finish in the 5-40 age category or the 41 and older category. The top three in each group will also be recognized. Groups are divided into male and female first, and then age groups of 5-14, 15-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, 61-70 and 71 and older.
