Occupation: Hopkins County Clerk

What’s the biggest issue the county clerk’s office faces? How will you solve it?:

The biggest issues that face the County Clerk are ever-changing laws and technology that as a clerk, I have no control over. I have gone through extensive training in motor vehicles, legal recordings, office management, Department of Revenue, budget preparation, elections, passports, and disaster and recovery of permanent records. I am prepared and competent to make those changes on a moment’s notice. Our office strives daily to ensure that you receive the best customer service possible in a timely manner, as I know first-hand how hectic our lives can be. I urge customers to utilize the online web renewal service, the mail-in renewal service, the fast-pass line for renewals and the upcoming renew by phone option.

Why should you be elected?

With my 15 years current experience, this is how I run the County Clerk’s Office: I thank God every day for my blessings. I am dependable, honest, fair and courteous. I treat people the way that I would want to be treated. I give 110%. I am responsible, helpful and address issues immediately. I appreciate my co-workers, because I couldn’t do it without them and always give credit where credit is due. In addition to my training and education, I am conscientious with your tax dollars. During my term I’ve cut my budget by $330,000 and increased revenue to the county by nearly $100,000 through implementing a passport acceptance office and notary service. I want to maintain extended office hours of 7:30 am thru 4:30 pm in order to accommodate the public. I promise to maintain a knowledgeable, efficient, and courteous staff. As your County Clerk, I will be dedicated to preserving the record of the past and preparing for the future. I, with the full support of my co-workers (who together have nearly 300 years combined experience) wish to continue serving the people of Dawson Springs and Hopkins County with the knowledge, commitment and service that exemplifies the office. We must continue these progressive practices in order to make our county thrive! It has been a pleasure to serve as your County Clerk and a pleasure to be a part of your community.
