The fact that President Donald Trump doesn’t own a pet is interesting to some people and I guess that’s why the topic was brought up to me recently. Apparently, Trump was to receive a golden doodle, but the transaction fell through,
I don’t know much about pets in the White House, but I do remember Barack Obama having this cute fluffy dog named Bo.
So to Google I went. Forty-three presidents have had pets, according to Wikipedia. Some of these pets include unnamed animals.
Dogs are the most popular kind of pet for presidents, but there have been donkeys, mice, goats, roosters, alligators, bears and even a hyena. Theodore Roosevelt was the owner of several unique pets.
Trump was born in New York City in 1946. The wire fox terrier was named the Best in Show at the Westminster Kennel Club.
“An unconditional love for their human family, smart appearance, alert and outgoing manner always attracts attention, in and out of the show ring,” according to the WKC website.
I vote Trump adopt a wire fox terrier. And he should name it Freddie, after his grandfather who came to the United States from Europe in 1885. Freddie would work for a boy or a girl pup.
